Norwell is a centuries old rural community. It is listed in the Domesday Book (1086) as the village of Nortwelle and as benefiting from a church complete with a priest and a watermill.
Nowadays, the parish includes Norwell and Norwell Woodhouse. It also includes Willoughby, an old and now deserted community. The parish population is approximately 450.
Norwell is a vibrant and lively community which, unlike so many villages, still has its shop, pub and school. There are lots of active community groups, details of which you will find clicking on this link Organisations. The parish council urges everyone to support all these organisations and help our parish to remain a living community.
